public speaking programs
Many people are afraid of public speaking. In fact, research
has shown that it is people’s number one fear, even
greater than death! At the same time, ironically, the ability
to speak to, communicate with, and influence others is often
cited as one of the most essential leadership skills by corporate
executives, politicians, and community leaders.
The best way to quickly get up to speed on your confident
public speaking is to attend one of our small group coaching
programs. Small group coaching offers a number of advantages
over the typical public speaking class:
- In groups of 2 to 6 people, you'll get plenty of personal
attention.
- You'll have multiple opportunities to practice the skills
you are learning in the session.
- You'll be personally coached on your speaking skills,
and have immediate opportunities to practice doing it differently.
- Every time you stand to speak you'll be videotaped for
review at home.
- You'll learn a lot from the experience of everyone else
in the class.
- Paradoxically, the skills you learn in these small groups
are easily transferable to much larger audiences.
We offer two small group coaching programs, a monthly one-day
introduction (SpeakingPresence Fundamentals)and
a monthly two-day intensive (Successfully
Speaking Small Group Coaching). You can take
either program individually as they are each designed as stand-alone
programs. But you might find greater integration by combining
the two programs over a period of time
Our office is centrally located Lebanon,
NH in the Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire
close to the intersection of Interstates 89 and 91. As such
we are an easy drive from all the New England states, including
Boston and all of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine.

Fundamentals
This one-day small group coaching program
is uniquely designed by RiverWays Enterprises to meet the
specific needs of individuals wishing to learn the basics
of becoming more relaxed, confident and authentic speakers.
This introductory public speaking class will help you:
- Develop a sense of comfort, ease and confidence when you
speak
- Refine your natural speaking style
- Deliver impromptu content while staying centered with
yourself and connected to your audience
- Slow down, using silence to engage the audience and increase
the impact of your presentation
- Establish a genuine rapport with the audience by “listening
to” and receiving the energetic support that is present
in the room
- Think on your feet
- Begin to look forward to – and even ENJOY –
speaking in front of a group
Incorporating principles from a variety
of stress reducing perspectives as well as personalized coaching,
this program offers a solid foundation in the basics of public
speaking presence.

Successfully
Speaking Small Group Coaching: A Two-Day Intensive
RiverWays Enterprises has developed a proven set of tools
to help you overcome your fear of public speaking and lead
with confidence, authenticity and presence. These tools have
been distilled into our two-day Successfully Speaking
Intensive.
- It's a surprisingly powerful way to improve your speaking
ability
- It's simple, practical and grounded (not just theoretical)
- There are definite steps that you can practice

This intensive will introduce you to the Elemental
Speaking model and give you an opportunity to
practice delivering a prepared talk using the tools learned
in the model. On the first day you will learn five key steps
to becoming comfortable, relaxed and authentic while speaking
with purpose and connection. On day two, you will practice
with a prepared talk and will:
- Identify desired objectives
- Develop an opening which will help you relax and draw
in your audience
- Include effective supporting stories and slides
- Deliver the talk without written notes
- Practice the five confidence building strategies learned
on the first day
